May 12 1944, Brux, Czechslovakia(now Most, Czech Republic). This photo was taken by Victor Labruno through the radio compartment window of the B-17G Flying Fortress "Lady Godiva," flown by Lt. Manual Head of the 562nd Bomb Squadron, 388th Bomb Group. The photo shows a Messerschmitt Me 410 (W.Nr. 10241) "Black-13" piloted by Lt. Paul Kashuba of II./ZG26, banking away after making an attack run at "Lady Godiva." The top turret gunner/flight engineer Eugene Crossin fired at "Black-13" and saw his tracers hiting the fighter, later that day, the Luftwaffe reported "Black-13" and the pilot Paul Kaschuba were lost in combat on May 12 1944.
